Cook n Recipe Browser - Free download and software reviews

5 stars

"I love this software and the apps that go with it!"

 |  Version: Cook'n Recipe Browser 11.3.11

Pros

Easily save all your favorite recipes, or save favorites from the internet or Facebook, complete with pictures.

Cons

Non that I can think of!

Summary

I absolutely love the Cook 'N software and apps. I have the software on my PC and easily upload any changes to my cookbook to the Cloud. Then easily update the apps I have on my phone, tablet and iPad. If I think of something I'd like to make while grocery shopping, I just open the app and find the recipe. So easy! When I find recipes on the internet or on Facebook, it's super easy to ad them to the cookbook too. When my granddaughter got married, I printed her a family cookbook with all our favorite recipes, and she loved it. I would definitely recommend it!

"Cook'n makes keeping track of recipes as easy as pie."

 |  Version: Cook'n Recipe Browser 11.3.11

Pros

Download internet recipes directly into "cookbook".
Cloud allows access to your recipes on tablet and phone so you have them wherever you go.
Search features make it simple to find any recipe in case you forget which category you originally chose.
Sharing recipes is simple.
Technical support responds with personal help that's simple to understand.

Cons

Technical problems occur from time to time but they are quick to help you fix them.
Mobile apps don't have full functions in the newest version but I'm confident they will continue to add those.

Summary

After using other programs and searching hard for one that would meet my needs, Cook'n was the answer. I love having my recipes on my tablet in the kitchen and on my phone at the grocery. At potlucks, friends ask me for my recipe and I can pull out my phone and email it to them instantly! I've had Cook'n for over 2 years now and don't know how I lived without it. No more hunting through scraps of paper or trying to remember which book that recipe was in. For Thanksgiving, I have a saved menu that I can tweak each year, tap a button and have a shopping list. I can't imagine what else a recipe program could do but I'll bet they come up with new features that I never considered and I'll love them.

"Terrific Recipe Software!"

 |  Version: Cook'n Recipe Browser 11.3.11

Pros

I've been collecting recipes for years. They were everywhere--cut outs from magazines, scraps of paper from friends. Impossible to keep track of them until I purchased Cook'n Software. Easy to use and so many great features!! I even printed a cookbook with recipes from family & friends. DVO support is terrific, too. Anytime I've had a question, they are quick to respond and assist. They continue to add new features that make it so easy to capture recipes from the internet and pop them right into my recipe collection. Or I can scan my old recipe cards and they easily go right into my collection! They also have live recipe feeds (with yummy pictures) everyday from all over the internet. Makes searching for a recipe a breeze. I just downloaded the free IOS app and can access my recipe collection anywhere with my IPAD. I would highly recommend this product to anyone that is considering it.

Cons

Not enough time to cook all of the recipes I have collected!!

Summary

Fun to Use!!

"Excellent Concept, Time Saving, and Recipe Storage Tool"

 |  Version: Cook'n Recipe Organizer 11.3.1

Pros

Love the web capture, love the ability to store all my handwritten recipe notes, love that it builds menus, and planning document. Appreciate that you can export to MSWord and do the formatting and design tweaking there.

Cons

Takes a bit of patience, but if you keep trying you will get your tech questions answered.

Summary

This is my recommended recipe organizer tool! I refer all my friends that are chefs, cooks, and moms to this product for recipe storage and I would recommend it for you also!

"Good concepts poor programing"

 |  Version: Cook'n Recipe Organizer 11.1.7

Pros

The capture recipes from the internet is great as is the importing recipes by scanning paper recipes.

Cons

However the scanning import does not work and printing can by a problem. The cloud feature also never worked.

Support is very poor. You have to sent and email and maybe in 3 or 3 days they reply asking what problem is again. Again 2 or 3 days later the answer is always the same - reinstall.

If that does not work then they just drop you and you are out of luck.

"So far, I'm loving it!"

 |  Version: Cook'n Recipe Organizer 11.1.1

Pros

I love the ability to capture recipes with the click of a button from my Pinterest boards and that I can scan printed recipes and get them saved in my Cook'n library.

Cons

I wish everyone that I love to spend time with had it so I could share cookbooks and recipes with them.

Summary

I have had this for about 2 months now and it has done everything they advertise. It has been really easy to take all my recipes on the go and especially been helpful when I create shopping lists on my phone when I have a few meals planned for the week. It is really nice to be able to use my tablet in the kitchen instead of bringing my laptop to take up space or having to print off recipes just to use them once for a meal. I had a couple of problems with the sync at first, but once I figured it out it has been working great. I have recommended it to family members and they all like it so far as well. This is by far the best thing I have used for recipe software.

"Excellent!"

 |  Version: Cook'n Recipe Organizer 11.1.1

Pros

Innovative and useful!

Cons

There's a definite learning curve to understand all of the different features and customizations.

Summary

Cook'n is very feature-rich and can be a powerful tool to make good meal-planning, shopping, and eating habits!

You can find and organize recipes, display a live recipe feed from your favorite recipe websites, plan menus, create shopping lists, and even synchronize recipes between devices (mobile apps are free, folks)! It's fully customizable--which is great--and you can modify anything from the default brands, ingredients, and units of measure included with the software to even the pricing of the items when Cook'n creates a shopping list so that it's more appropriate for your area.

Warning: the live recipe feed, pinterest capture, and multitude of other features can make Cook'n pretty addicting -- don't forget to actually make and eat all those yummy recipes! ;)

"No Better Software Exists!"

 |  Version: Cook'n Recipe Organizer 11.1.1

Pros

Capture internet recipes, scan printed recipes, Cook'n cloud. It's all there!

Cons

I ran out of personal recipes to enter. Dang. I guess I'll have to use the capture feature to find more on the internet!

Summary

I first discovered cook'n about 7 or 8 years ago. But, I've found Cook'n again and it's even better!

Now, with version 11, I can scan my printed recipes. I can even use the cloud to see my recipes on my phone or tablet With the free mobile apps! This is great!

 |  Version: Cook'n Recipe Organizer 11.1.1

Pros

So helpful with planning my family's menus, getting organized, and I love the nutritional tool. I've always wondered how healthy our family's favorite recipes are, and now I have a way to find out with a click of a button. Best find of the year!

Cons

Up to this point, I can't really think of anything that I don't like.
